Hellen Obiri has, in the past two years, cemented her status as one of Kenya's and the world's elite athletes.
She first made her mark on the global stage in the 1500m before transitioning to longer distances, where she has also achieved historic success.
Obiri is a two-time World Champion in the 5,000m, winning gold in 2017 and 2019.
Obiri also finished second in the 2025 Boston Marathon in a new personal best time of 2:17:41.
Her victory in the New York City Marathon in 2025 made her the first woman in over three decades to claim both the Boston and New York City marathon titles.
Obiri's 2025 results contributed to her winning the overall 2024 Abbott World Marathon Majors series title.
